Description

Welcome to the Official Page for the 26th Annual Georgetown University Senior Ball!

Please read below before purchasing your tickets.

What is Senior Ball?

The Senior Ball is a chance for all the people involved in a senior’s Georgetown experience to meet one another, celebrate their student’s accomplishments and dance the night away before graduation the following day. This year marks the 26th anniversary of the event, held across six halls of DC’s historic Union Station. Inspired by the upcoming journeys seniors will be embarking on after graduation, the Senior Class Committee’s theme for this year’s event is “All Roads Lead to the Hilltop” highlighting the many adventures that not only brought us to the Hilltop four years ago, but the ones we’ve experienced during our time at Georgetown and the ones ahead. The evening will feature live music, DJs, dancing, heavy hors d’oeuvres, open bars and desserts.

When and where is the event?

Senior Ball will be held from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Union Station in Washington, DC.

How do I buy tickets?

Purchase tickets by clicking the green "TICKETS" button above.

How much are tickets?

Tickets to the Senior Ball are priced at $100 per ticket. (Service fees may apply)

Does my student need a ticket?

Yes, your student will need a ticket to attend the event.

I have a large party that wants to attend ball, how can we all be accommodated?

The Senior Class Committee’s goal is to include as many students in Senior Ball as possible. For this reason, ticket sales will be limited to three tickets (one student, two additional family members) from April 5 through April 18. On April 19, ticket sales will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis without a limit until capacity is reached. Senior Ball has sold out in the past, so it is strongly advised that current seniors buy their three tickets at the allotted time, and then purchase any additional tickets as soon as possible. Example: if you have 8 people that wish to attend, you may purchase 3 tickets now and the remaining 5 on April 19.

Could you clarify that last question?

First Sales Period: April 5, 2017 - April 18, 2017

Ticket sales are only open to Georgetown seniors and their families. Each senior will be able to purchase up to 3 tickets (one student, two additional family members). This will ensure that each senior has the opportunity to obtain at least three tickets for the Ball.

On and after April 19, 2017

Ticket sales will open to all, without restrictions on the number of tickets that can be purchased per reservation.

Please note:

On May 10, 2017: Tickets will increase to $110; 13 years and under tickets will remain at $50

Does my younger sibling have to pay full price?

Tickets for those 13 and under will cost $50 (service fees may apply). However, these tickets will not be released until the second round of ticket sales, which will open on April 19.

When can we arrive at Union Station on May 19? I’ve heard it takes forever to get in.

Guests may line up beginning at 8:30pm; doors will open at 9pm. We will be holding opportunities for seniors and families to pre-register for Senior Ball by picking up their tickets before arriving at Union Station.

What is Pre-Registration for Senior Ball?

Pre-registration for Senior Ball is an opportunity for attendees to pick up their tickets to Senior Ball before getting to Union Station on Friday evening. At least one person from each party’s reservation can pick up their entire party’s tickets during pre-registration periods. We will NOT allow anyone to pick up tickets for another party’s reservation (roommate, friend, etc.). Pre-registration will be held at the following times:

Thursday, May 18 in Sellinger Lounge (in the Leavey Center) from 9am-12pm

Thursday, May 18 in the Healey Family Student Center Great Room from 4pm-6pm

Friday, May 19 in the Leavey Program Room (in the Leavey Center) from 10am-2pm

What if I lose my tickets after picking them up before Senior Ball?

We will NOT re-distribute tickets in the case of lost tickets. Once you have pre-registered in our system, it is your responsibility to show up to Union Station with your tickets. In the case of lost tickets, you will be asked to pay for a ticket in cash on-site for $110 if you still want to attend the Senior Ball.

What will the event be like…will food be served?

You can expect a big band, entertainers and DJs throughout the venue. The event features heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks (open bars), and desserts. However, a full dinner is not served. Guests are advised to have a light dinner prior to the event.

Is transportation to Union Station provided?

In collaboration with the Georgetown University Student Association, the Senior Class Committee will be providing free shuttles leaving from the GUTS Turnaround (in front of McDonough Gymnasium) going to Union Station on Friday night. You may drive to the event and park in the Union Station garage (standard price applies). We also advise using local public transportation systems, such as the Circulator and the D.C. Metro System, which has a stop at Union Station on the red line.

Is there a dress code for the event?

There is NO official dress code for the Senior Ball. Please feel free to dress up as much or as little as you are comfortable with. Cultural attire is encouraged!

What if I bought a ticket, but cannot go to Senior Ball?

Before May 17, 2017 contact seniorball@georgetown.edu, or use the refund request on your Eventbrite confirmation for a full refund. We will resell the ticket at full price for another student.

On and after May 17, 2017 we will not be offering refunds for tickets to Senior Ball. You may attempt to sell your ticket to any Georgetown community member looking to purchase additional tickets. However, as was stated in the waiver during the purchase of your Senior Ball tickets, any resale of tickets for more than face value will result in Code of Conduct violation procedures for students, and a cancellation of all tickets.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions/concerns you may have. Looking forward to seeing you there!
